World Drums Festival is a large-scale cultural event showcasing a variety of percussion and drum music from the four corners of the globe. Drums and percussions will feature more than ten groups of drummers and percussionists from around the world and not to forget that it will participate by local groups also.

This event will also promote our traditional beats of "Kompang" and our school brass band capacity to the eyes of the world.

This festival will present an arena for diversity and harmony in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan for local people and from all over the world and it will widely announce the cultural identity, history and internationality of Malaysia.

It is a novel and meaningful festival where you can hear the united sounds and see the artistic skill and professionalism of percussion and drum performance teams from all over the world and also the unique sounds of "Kompang" and the quality of our school brass band.

It is going to be the most vibrant showcase of drums, percussions, and cultures you will ever see.

Projek Wayang di pelopori oleh golongan muda yang cintakan kesenian wayang. Projek boleh di layari di http://projekwayang.blogspot.com/.

Over the last few years, a group of young arts practitioners – visual artists, stage performers, musicians, graphic designers, writers – have been working towards understanding the Wayang Kulit Siam performance, the Kelantanese variant of the South East Asian shadow puppetry form.

This understanding is then translated into new performance forms – experimentations, really – that help to consolidate our findings or to articulate certain questions we have about what we have found so far.

Working from form and traveling inwards into the narrative structure of the wayang form, we have had to attend to questions as elementary (though not simple) as “Why the use of leather?”, “Why electric bulbs and not an open flame?”, to “What does it mean to improvise?”, among many others.

We hope that through learning this wayang form as a point of departure, we can eventually acquire some measure of performance sensibility and a degree of understanding of why wayang developed like it did in Kelantan (and also its sister forms in Java, Cambodia, Thailand, et al), and how a city like Kuala Lumpur (where most of us are currently based) can tell her stories through her own form of wayang.

Pada 7hb Oktober, bertempat di Restoran Tom Yam Wira Sejati Shah Alam. Seperti yang di janjikan, maka berkumpullah ahli-ahli Komuniti Dikir Barat Malaysia.

Walaupun perubahan tempat berlaku di saat-saat akhir kerana sebab-sebab yang tak dapat di elakkan, akhirnya dengan kerjasama ahli yang datang, majlis dapat dijalankan seperti yang di rancang. Sesi perkenalan dan perbincangan ringkas di adakan antara ahli.

Diharap dengan permulaan yang baik ini dapat diteruskan untuk masa mendatang. Mohon kemaafaan di atas kekurangan yang berlaku. Ribuan terima kasih kepada yang hadir dan kepada abe yie yang bertungkus lumus menyediakan tempat dan merangka majlis.
