Onde – onde

Yummilicious onde-onde from the Ramadhan Bazaar in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. A favourite dessert / snack amongst Malaysians, it’s also a traditional kuih (snack).

These glutinuous rice flour balls are stuffed with a palm sugar & brown sugar mixture, which is quite delightful when it bursts in one’s mouth. The colour is from the pandan (screwpine) leaves. The ball is dropped into boiling water and will float when cooked. Then it’s rolled in grated coconut .
